Exploring new frontiers in novel pharmacotherapeutics
Our research aims to understand the neuroscience of psychedelics and cannabinoids
The Psychedelics and Cannabinoid Therapeutics (PaCT) lab is a human behavioral pharmacology lab based at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada, exploring innovative approaches to treating stress-related mental health disorders.
Our work focuses on investigating the mechanisms and therapeutic potential of novel pharmacotherapeutics, including psychedelic- and cannabinoid-based interventions.
We combine a wide array of methods in healthy and clinical human populations, including neuroimaging, psychophysiology, behavior, and pharmacology.

We are hiring!
We are currently looking for Clinical Research Therapists that will assist in projects involving psychiatric clinical populations and/or drug interventions (cannabinoids, psychedelic compounds) with psychotherapy. This individual will mainly support a clinical trial exploring the effectiveness of psilocybin for the treatment of alcohol use disorder with the opportunity to support additional studies.
Psilocybin for Alcohol Use Disorder
We are now recruiting for our trial that aims to explore the efficacy of psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy for the treatment of alcohol use disorder.
BECKHAM-IV
We are currently recruiting healthy adults for a study exploring how the body’s natural endocannabinoid system helps regulate stress, anxiety, and mood. By measuring these naturally occurring chemicals in blood, saliva, and hair, we aim to understand how differences in endocannabinoid levels relate to emotional well‑being.
Subjective Effects of Psilocybin (SEP)
We are currently looking for healthy adults to help us understand how subjective experience shapes the effects of psilocybin.
